EWS.Ready Safe and Go - The EWS Varia set-up concept for turret machines

Ready: The turret remains fully equipped. Interchangeable tools are set up, measured and clearly marked outside the machine and are ready for use.

Safe: Standardized processes and one-handed operation ensure safe tool changes.

Go: Start the machine and produce parts with significantly less set-up time, downtime and higher output. Tool changing becomes a plannable 20-second pit stop.

More output, less downtime

Workpiece requirements and machine capacities come together in every production process - sometimes ideally, often not.

This is precisely where EWS.Ready Safe and Go comes in and creates a clear set-up concept for stable processes.

The workpiece determines the change

  1. Each component places its own demands on tools and machining.
  2. The more complex the range of parts, the more tool changes are required.
  3. Variants and repeat parts further increase the demand.
  4. Each change ties up machine and manpower.

The machine sets the limits

  1. Limited turret space restricts the tool capacity.
  2. Installation space and accessibility make it difficult to change tools in the work area.
  3. Heavy basic holders and conventional clamping nuts cost time and energy with an increased risk of injury and damage.

→ The EWS setup concept is the solution

  1. Machining operations are structured into four application groups: external turning, internal turning, centric drilling and milling.
  2. The three alternating groups run uniformly via EWS.Varia.
  3. Permanent tools are firmly clamped in multiple holders to save space.
  4. Digital tools support planning, simulation and collision control right through to the CAD/CAM system.
