The EWS.Varia VXT is the quick-change system for static internal turning operations. The compact design, the double-cone flex system for maximum rigidity, tool changes in under 20 seconds and full backwards compatibility with the tried-and-tested VX system ensure efficient processes.
With five new adapter variants, EWS is expanding the system's range of applications specifically for greater plunging depths, maximum precision in the micro range and reliable tool set-up.
CH adapter
Where conventional boring bars reach their limits, the CH adapters come into play: They enable greater immersion depths while maintaining the same stability, thus extending the range of applications of the VXT system in demanding internal turning processes.

PICCO adapter
The PICCO adapters integrate the ISCAR PICCOCUT JET LINE program into the VXT interface for the finest grooving, boring and threading operations in the micro range.
- Compatible with the ISCAR PICCOCUT cutting insert program
- Internal cooling and optimized coating for long tool life
- Mounting on both sides for flexible orientation
- Diameter range from 4-8 mm with matching reduction sleeves
Supermini B105 adapter
The VXT adapters for the HORN Supermini system enable grooving, boring, thread turning and face contour turning in the micro range - with process reliability thanks to defined chip guidance, even with critical materials.
- Compatible with the HORN cutting insert program type 105
- Drop-shaped carbide shank for precise tip height without adjustment
- Internal coolant supply directly to the cutting edge
- Can be used across all ISO material groups (P, M, K, N, S, H)
- Machining range: Ø from 0.2 mm - Grooving depth up to 2.5 mm - Grooving width up to 2.0 mm
Setup holder
Precise alignment is crucial for tool life, process stability and surface quality, especially for fine and hard turning operations. The set-up holders create a precise reference for this - and are also an integral part of the EWS Ready Safe and Go set-up concept.
- Checking the center height and axis alignment directly on the turret
- Calibration of presetting devices for safe tool changes
- Ideal for delicate or filigree workpieces
VXT blanks
For special applications that go beyond the standard range: VXT blanks can be individually configured and are manufactured on request - precisely tailored to your specific requirements.
